A child asked if Jesus is born every year!
We retell the story of the baby found wrapped
in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
It is repetitive by design.
The Artist redraws the ancient picture,
reanimates our present minds.
Tonight, with the hymns and scriptures,
the glow of lit candles, the silent grace,
may we be surprised by childlike faith:
Come, Lord Jesus, our guest to be;
and bless these gifts bestowed by thee.
