Description

60-minute webinar
November 16, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. EST

Join Outlook Editor/Publisher Teri McDowell Ott in a conversation with Julie Hester about using writing as a way to carry grief. We’ll explore how reflective writing and generous listening, alone and with others, can help us navigate the upcoming holidays — and any day.

Whether you are in a new season of grief, are long-acquainted, or just want to add to your toolbox of spiritual practices, you are welcome. Participants will respond to brief writing prompts, so have paper and pen handy.

What do I get when I order?

When you order today, you will receive a link to a recording of the webinar as well as the slide deck.

What is the price?

We ask that you pay $10 for individual viewing and $20 if the recording is going to be viewed by a group. If your group is larger than 25, please email rwestry@pres-outlook.org for pricing.

Julie Hester is a PC(USA) pastor and writer living in North Carolina. For over 20 years she has been part of a writing group of fellow bereaved mothers who have taught her almost everything she knows about grieving well. Julie writes curriculum, leads retreats and workshops, and shares her writing prompts at https://writingincompany.substack.com/. When she isn’t scribbling in composition notebooks, she is hanging out with her clergy spouse Dan and anxious dog Twyla or sending texts with full punctuation to their young adult children. You can also find her at https://juliehester.com/.

This webinar is one way that Presbyterian Outlook funds our ministry of being a prophetic, pastoral and independent publication focused on creating trustworthy resources and spaces for conversation. Thank you for your support.
